Group Resources

The information below attempts to publicize information about ongoing support and therapy groups and training in group therapy (including psychodrama) in Thurston County that are run by mental health professionals having a masters degree or doctorate. This site also lists professional organizations that promote group therapy.

Support groups tend to be open to individuals that are interested in attending. Support groups may or may not require the group leader’s permission to participate. These groups are intended to be supportive of people who have similar interests or needs.

Therapy groups require the group leader’s permission to attend and tend to focus on more individual, personal issues, within a group setting. Some therapy groups only admit new members during certain times; other groups may be more flexible. Some therapy groups require that clients interview prior being admitted into a particular group.

Mental health professionals who are interested in listing their group on this website should send an e-mail to Bill (see the “About” section of this website). Once you have Bill's direct e-mail you can send him the particulars for posting. He will need the following information about your group.

  • Group name.
  • Type of group: (support, therapy, or group training).
  • Intended clientele (brief description).
  • Location.
  • Day and time.
  • Contact: Name, telephone number and e-mail, or website.

Due time and space limitations, I will not post information about:

  • 12-step groups (e.g., AA, NA, etc).
  • Groups not run by mental health professionals.
  • One time events.
I cannot guarantee that the information given to me is accurate or complete. Contact me if changes should be made to information on this website.
